I remember early on in internet history(1992), when I was at a 12 step meeting. Some one said they went to telnet chat rooms and exhibited the worst kind of trolling behaviour. When I asked him why, he looked at me with a straight face and said 'ah. . those people aren't REAL'.
When I told him I was definately real and on the telnet chat he had the grace to look thunderstruck. . .but as he was showing off in front of his wife and another couple that were there visiting, he just turned his back on me and kept talking to them.

so - I learned long ago that trolls could dismiss what they do as some sort of video game and somehow it was all our faults if we took it 'wrong'.

Yes, of course, the Voice of the NT has to maintain the illusion that cruel and aggressive behavior is caused by "other people" with some sort of mental pathology.

It sort of fits with all of the other NT illusions, like sit-coms.

NTs are pack animals and the instinct to kill has not been fully bred from them.

That’s a very interesting reaction,” Fortuny said. “Why didn’t you get so defensive when I said you had green hair?” If I were certain that I wasn’t a terrible reporter, he explained, I would have laughed the suggestion off just as easily. The willingness of trolling “victims” to be hurt by words, he argued, makes them complicit, and trolling will end as soon as we all get over it.

It's not just NTs that project responsibility for their behavoir onto others.

That's a very good description of a lot of Aspies. Very true.

Many also apparently have huge problems understanding hyperbole. That's unfortunate for them.
