Lots of people are asking if McCain thinks that autism and down's syndrome are the same thing, based on his comments in the final debate last night.

I also recall McCain saying "Autism is on the rise" last night.

I think, based on what I've read of his comments -- I didn't watch the debate, that he just lumps all "special needs" together. So he's claiming that Palin understands our needs because she has a special needs child, not because he thinks they're the same.

I have no opinion on either candidate. I'm voting for Mickey Mouse, myself. There's a candidate I can trust.

Apples and oranges. Sarah Palin probably knows as much about Autism as she knows about foreign policy.

All McCain really cares about is Joe the Plumber.

You'll get no argument from me, Cyberman, unless you start shooting at me with that weapon. Then I won't argue but I will throw gold dust into your ventilator grill. ;)

On the other hand, there's at least hope that the fact that she has a special needs child herself will encourage Sarah to learn about other special needs. Autism is definitely becoming a big issue and can't be swept under the rug any more. I don't know if she WILL learn about it, but at least there's hope she might.

Still have no opinion on the candidates. Still voting for Mickey.

there are a few truths in life......
1. death...
2. taxes...

and dont ever pay too much attention to what a politician says prior to an election.

Yeah, was that the best thing he could come up with? And his smirking and giggling... remind you of anyone?

Correct you are - I did not know that. So McCain's statement is reasonable and not innacurate, even if I did not understand it.
