I think it is accurate but we have time and no pressure so we can study the eyes by themselves without being distracted by the entire face and all the bits and pieces.

Good points! I like you, Gary, you seem like a very wise person. I actually just clicked the link in your profile which I had never really noticed before. Wow! You have quite a bit of information on there.

I see we are in the same profession.

I noticed "design" in your profile but was unsure what kind of design. For example, my wife does civil design, her best friend does interior design, etc. So many types of design! :) I work for a residential home builder, been doing this for 9 years now. With the economy right now, it's getting a little scary, though, especially since our largest competitor just closed down nationwide. While I do love the career choice, I have struggled with many of the people where I work for most of the 9 years.

I had no idea with most of them. Some of the eyes were in too much shadow.
But my score is really dreadful all the same

Your score: 12
A typical score is in the range 22-30. If you scored over 30,
you are very accurate at decoding a person's facial expressions
around their eyes. A score under 22 indicates you find this quite difficult.

21 . . . i think my score was affected though by my misunderstanding of the meaning of different words due to my under-average vocabulary. This is testing a minor aspect of the non-verbal IQ, but i take it my verbal IQ must be crap too based on my difficulties comprehending the words. The more i realise this, the less i think i'm Aspie, but perhaps just on the PDD spectrum. Not mentally ret*d otherwise.

Anybody else feel that fear was a major contributing factor to your ability? I remember being so afraid of my step-father that I learned to interpret his every feeling. Maybe this is an isolated incidence, but I might be wrong. Anyone else feel this way? :)

I got 29 the first time I took this one. Being good at this test doesn't rule out being on the autism spectrum. I have a knack for sensing moods and emotions but it doesn't mean I'm a good conversationalist.

Does anyone know if there's another test just like this but with different faces?

I got 18. Some of the faces were hard to see. Some I didn't agree with any of the words given.

I didnt like the test. It seemed to me (and maybe I didn't pay enough attention) that only the masculine eyes had "stronger" emotions, but all the feminine ones were sly sideways glances: connoting "flirtatiousness", "dreaminess" "desire" and so on, which did not seem very realistic to me since they all looked the same & I just picked whatever synonym for "flirting/desire" was in the choices....
