That is actually interesting because I think that could be under debate and it is a good question, if something is conscious, is that enough to be considered alive?

How do you test consciousness? An organism can respond sensibly to stimulus with no nervous system. Is a nervous system necessary for consciousness? My guess is that consciousness is the result of having an internal model of one's self and the environment but I see no current method of discovering this.
