Oh my god. I'm sobbing right now over my cereal bowl. That was wonderful.

Think of all the years they made that poor guy sit on the sidelines because they didn't even KNOW what a great player he is. I hope that coach gets an earful from every parent of every other kid he held back. And where were his parents, to not even know what talent the kid had?

what a waste of that young man's time his 'guardians' were.

Hi Sins,

I understand your feeling about this. I do. How is it that this talented kid spent so much time "enthusiastically" serving the NT kids ? What a bummer that people are so predujiced and blind.

On the other hand...

Would Jason's moment have been so freakin' magical if they hadn't overlooked him the way they did? I mean.... WOW. Also... they LOVE that kid. The whole gymnasium LOVES that kid.
While we're busy being bummed. It looks like Jason was having fun and got his big moment in the sun. I hope he has many many more moments like that.

I hope my son has his moments and I hope we can learn a thing or two from them.

yeah, they love him NOW....next week, he'll be put back in the box.
None of them really give two jerks about him, he just was momentarily useful to them.
They will never see him as a real person, and never let him be an equal.

Hiya, aren't kids on the spectrum WONDERFUL! Every one of them has a special ability/talent/gift...you just have to look for it....but hey when you find it......wowowwowow. This is my son, he has only been playing for little over a year....he is diagnosed Aspergers Syndrome................This is HIS interpretation and improvisation of Purple Rain. I think he is amazing but then I am biased!! I am his mum after all :D

But the fact is, praise a kid, support them and love them then stand back whilst they amaze you

Beautiful and a tear jerker! He will never forget that game, nor will his parents!
