I cannot get on Aspie Affection (AA), there is a database errror or something. Who else is ahving this problem?

and I hate it when I dont get a response. And theer was this girl from canada who puts "I dont respond to people out of my country"...

is it more common in guys or girls on these aspie sits to ignore messages from the opposite sex?

Aspie Affection seems to be down, jemir1234.

finding another Aspie in your own back yard is not only rare, it is next to impossible. Not wanting to date outside of one's country is an honest preference and has more to do with legal hassles if one should wish to immigrate or emigrate.

Aspies/Auties have a lot of social skills to offer when posting to WP. Doesn't mean we are not interested in a romantic situation, just mostly means two people have to be looking for the same things.

you only had it up for 30 minutes. Do you want to see if more members want to vote?

I only gave my opinion. They may have others.

Aspie Affection has been down for at least almost two weeks (since at least May 13, 2009).

The main issue I had with Aspie Affection was that it wasn't really all that user-friendly.

If you felt comfortable enough corresponding with someone that you wanted to take it to e-mail or IM, it would block out the addresses and screen names (I think this was to protect us from scammers).

When it was first created, it had an IM program, but it never worked.

I don't use dating sites. I think they're an utterly pointless waste of time (and in many cases, money) especially if you're a guy. You will almost always be ignored, regardless of which site it is.

when someone that might be even marginally interested there is the problem of all that physical distance between two people met on Aspie Affection. How easily is it for a pair of Aspies to meet at the coffee shop if they were even in the same city? How much less easy is it for that same Aspie to fly to Atlanta or Seattle or Brisbane for that cup of coffee?

If two people connect very well, distance shouldn't be an issue. If you meet someone in person and the two of you hit it off, you can always move there, or the other person can move to where you are.

distance is always an issue (unless, as you were saying, one moves to the other's location)... long-distance relationships do not work... e-hugs and cybering do not constitute a real relationship...
