Also, I think your son may later feel you weren't honest with him - like an kid who isn't told ...

This is ironic - as SSRIs are one of the best studied drugs for kids. A lot of the other drugs do not have warnings, simply because the research hasn't been done!
And yes, aspirin, vitamins, and eve ...
