On not looking people in the eyes when conversing 07-14-2009 09:00 am nansnick's Blog

Quote: If i'm looking at you IM LOOKING AT YOU. All focus. Rather than listen to you, which is done with the ears and not the eyes, which is probably just me as an AS taking things literally.

2LeftFeet: That aspect of Aspie interaction with others had never occurred to me before. I think you have a very valid point.

Kaleido: Indeed, I can look at eye colour, wrinkles, nose shape and those kinds of things but don't expect me to be able to hear the person and process a sensible reply as well. Seems obvious to me.

Why is this something that is not obvious to Doctors? For all their hard work I've never met a Professional who's been able to figure this one out.

My wife has two different colored eyes and it's fairly obvious, I'm amazed at how many people talk to her maintaining eye contact for years before noticing it

Interesting. It must be beautiful. That is something that would catch my eye immediately.
