NYAspie and Hurricane Katrina
posted at 08:40 pm on 09-09-2005

I just want to write and say that I feel for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and also say that I point the blame on the messy handling of the relief on both the US Government and those who stayed in New Orleans even thought they knew full well to get the heck out of Dodge as the storm was starting to bear down on the Big Easy.

Also, my family made a donation to the US Red Cross disaster relief fund. I won't say how much, though. Click here to make a donation yourself.

Long time, no write (again)

Well, a lot has changed since the last time I wrote. I have since left Target and signed on with a company called Tier as a Data Entry Clerk. I am preparing to enter my second week there.

One hell of a day
posted at 12:23 pm on 06-07-2005

Before my second day (read, in this case: night) of training/working at Target even began, we had an unbelievable storm tear through the Saratoga area (as well as other parts of the Capital Region.) There was even a tornado warning for Saratoga County! After all was said and done, a tree in our front yard was knocked down and, as of this writing, over thirty thousand people in my neck of the woods are without electricity and it is predicted they will get it back on by tomorrow night. Some parts of Saratoga either had hail coming down or were flooded. Probably, as a result, we had a slow beginning to my second night at Target. However, at 7PM and before closing time (which is 10PM during the week and 9PM on Sundays.) The higher-ups had me stay afterwards to help bring the shopping carts from the corrals in the parking lot (and the lot proper.) So far, so good...

Day One
posted at 06:10 pm on 06-05-2005

Today, I had my first training day at Target. I'm happy to report that everything went well, and I am looking forward to more good experiences there. Now if I could only find out what my schedule is going to be like... After typing the above, I realize that there is some disorganization afoot here. I decided earlier this evening to call the ETL (Executive Team Leader, for those of you who don't speak "Target") tomorrow morning (since she'll be in at that time) and find out then. Not to confuse matters, but this past Wednesday, I took a drug test for a business in the Albany area. As of this post, I have yet to hear from them about whether or not I've been hired.

A new beginning
posted at 09:08 pm on 06-04-2005

Tomorrow, I start training at Target. I was to have come in today, but I opted to help my sister and her husband move into their new house. This is definitely a new beginning.

BTW, no word from the other business yet.

Howzabout this? I had an interview with a company located near Albany NY (quite a hike from Saratoga). The company that does their drug testing called me this afternoon and wanted me to come in. All this comes a few days after the folks at Target welcomed me into their fold with open arms. With orientation there looming over me like a circle of buzzards in the desert sky (and with me as the near-dead wanderer), I have a tough decision to make. Will keep you posted as details develop.

Please allow me to introduce myself...

Bear with me, as this is my first time doing something like this. I am a 22-year-old post-graduate male Aspie who currently resides with his parents somewhere in upstate New York. Hopefully, within the next few days, I will be working at Target and getting a social life together within the next few days (or at least I hope to, anyway.)
