weed isn't evil, just misunderstood
posted at 05:54 am on 11-07-2008

for quite some time cannabis was one of the very few drugs that helped me here and there feel more normal, but thanks to recent events i've had to give it up (which coincides with my eighteenth...).

here's a question for those with AS that smoke it:
does it bring your 'problems' to the surface?

i noticed over the past year that when i smoke i tend to lean forwards a lot more. when i was younger i used to walk as if i wanted my forehead to touch the floor with every step i took, this caused all kinds of social problems but as luck would have it i managed to grow out of it after being taught a few tricks. it's been about four years since i started walking upright yet every time i smoke it happens again.

another problem i've had when smoking is that i tend to try to socialise more, i'm not sure if i became more confident or if i forgot about 'social rules' but it was exactly the same as when i was younger. there were times when i was in a group, and i would just start talking or saying certain things because i thought i needed to say something, for example...
two people on the street having an argument, i see this and shout: "you're lucky one of you doesn't have a gun".
it ended quite badly... and yet after several years of this not happening i found myself saying similar when i was under the influence.

there's somuch more i could go into detail about but i believe these examples are good enough to put forward what i'm trying to say. recently due to my health and anxiety problems i've had to give it up even though i only had about half an eighth every month of so, it seems to be having a bad effect on me but as of now i'm not sure if the smoke's the problem, or if it's something about me.

all comments greatly appreciated.
