This thread is for discussing new updates to the Wrong Planet layout and code.
Update! (December 9, 2007)
I've updated the site so you can see your private message inbox status at the top right hand corner. When you get a new message, the message will be bold and say "1 new messsage." Otherwise it will just say "Inbox."
The private message and search links have both been removed from directly above the forums and are now located in the top unified menu bar. |

That's pretty cool, since (until now) if one is on the home page, the inbox isn't even visible.

Two more updates
I've added a blog link in user's posts.
I've also added a new pagination dropdown for threads / forums with more than 15 pages. |

That doesn't seem to be working anymore. _________________ Autie was I ere I saw Eitua |

That's probably my fault. I suggested that there would be a rather large increase in page size, when the dropdown lists (both of them) were present on long threads. E.g. on the "last person to post wins" thread, with thousands of pages, I estimated that the html sent for each page would occupy 300Mbytes, with 3/4 of that added by the dropdowns. _________________ Oregano, n: The ancient Italian art of pizza folding.

SUPER
Nice one. The little page number box is perfect. On posts, threads and PMs... no less!
I was going to suggest the phpBB3 approach (making "Page xxx of yyy" be a link that popped up a box to ask for the page number), but I'm not sure I like that as much as having the box already there.
And for your next tweak...

Uhhh--- but since the profile page is redone, it's impossible to change avatars and custom ranks for some (all?)
This happens after hitting the submit button:
alex, if you have the time, can you give a short statement of whether you know it/will take care of it please? |

Idiot question time: I notice that our user-names are now links to our profiles....
will you be eliminating the profile buttons? _________________ Autie was I ere I saw Eitua |
