I do. My last boyfriend had a problem with it though.

I wonder if lying or sitting in this position has to do with the autism spectrum. I have seen pictures of autistic kids sitting in that position so it started to make me wonder.

I lie in a fetal position under the covers because it help keeps my body warm. Sometimes I just lie like that for nothing because it feels comfortable. Sometimes I sit that way too because it's comfortable.

No. I sprawl out. I like taking up space. The fetal postion feels very unnatual and too confing for me. Somtimes when I sit, I sit "indian style" with my legs folded, but not with my knees tucked up to my chest. In bed I lie on my stomach or side, sprawled out with my legs and arms in weird angles. Even when I'm cold I won't curl up - I just get more blankets or put on more clothes.

I do.
I prefer to have a pillow to stick between my knees and another to pull up tight against me.

Problem is... this position gives me a bit of a lower back/hip ache sometimes if I sleep that way most of the night.

If I can sleep on my back, I feel better in the morning.
I've taken to lying with my body pillow on top of me and not using a pillow under my head.

But I still like the feel of curling up MUCH better than lying flat on my back. Wink

I sleep that way all the time. Curled up on my side and I switch sides back and forth all night.

I have started to settle to sleep on my stomach, but previously - and for as long as I can remember - I always slept with my back to the nearest wall, and curled up at the edge of the bed. When I wake up at any point in the night, I find myself back in my foetal position.

When I sit, I feel the need to cross my legs on the seat. Can't do that keeping my legs straight thing. At the dinner table, and at restaurants, this poses moments of hilarity for my friends. Oh well, someone's gotta be the entertainment!

Sure do. I sleep and lay on the couch in the fetal position and I also hunch over when sitting up, although I am trying to improve the latter for my posture's sake.

Hmm. I like to sit with my legs up, sort of curled into a ball. I'm not comfortable sitting in a chair with my legs extended out.

I used to do this as a child. However, I do not do this hardly ever any more.

I tend to.
I also fall back on my infant sleeping position; which was on my knees hugged up against my eldest brothers chest.
I've started to stretch out the last 10 years; but the fact is that I crave heat when at home (at rest) and my own body heat is the best and most quickly available.

When I was younger, I sat in this position all the time, even when I was in a chair:

I often sleep wrapped up in a tight ball. But never during the day. I'm too fat to curl up in a fetal position while on my feet.
