NES is Nintendo Entertainment System. I guess there an older version that had a robot but that doesn't count so don't start picking my claim about the NES being the original Nintendo game system.

My favorite games for the NES are a tie between Bubble Bobble and Dragon Warrior IV

The Legend of Zelda

greatest game ever made for any system.

I especially love the harder second set of quests.

Loved the old NES games. Hard to pick just one favorite. I guess
Super Mario Bros. because that was the first game I ever played, on
that system. I thought it was the coolest thing when I learned that
100 man trick Smile The only other game I had ever played before
that was Atari Space Invaders. Dragon Warrior games were great
too though, as well as Legend of Zelda. Great memories. Never
dreamed that gaming would have advanced as nicely as it has 20 years later....... Very Happy

Other systems have more bells and whistles but the NES has the most number of games that you'd want to play over and over again, except for the Gameboy incarnations which have a lot of NES games and SNES games, including games for the console systems that were never released in the United States.

Remember Marble Madness? We were convinced that there was no way a human being could win but now it's really easy for us,

1.) You mean EarthBound Zero, yes?
2.) Yes, you CAN lose to the final boss. Just don't sing, and you lose soon enough, I'm pretty sure, even if you are only losing because you had to turn the game off to leave.

My favorite was Kirby's Adventure.

Okay, let's clear this up.
The NES game Mother was not released in the United States.
The SNES game Mother 2 was released in the United States.
Mother 2, in the United States, was called EarthBound.
Since the name EarthBound was already taken by Mother 2, Mother is typically referred to as EarthBound Zero.
In both Mother and Mother 2, Geeg/Gyiyg/Giygas/however else you want to transliterate the name (I prefer Gyiyg) is the final boss.
In Mother, Ninten, Loid, Ana, and Teddy sing Queen Mary's song to defeat Gyiyg.
In Mother 2, Paula prays to defeat Gyiyg (and it could be argued that Paula merely cried out while Ness directed the prayers).
In Mother, Gyiyg has a definite form. (He looks something like a white string.)
In Mother 2, Gyiyg does not have a definite form. After Pokey/Porky (The name Pokey was a mistranslation.) turns off the Devil's Machine, Gyiyg appears as a shifting background.

Since I don't own the console, I hope the following are indeed NES and not SNES.
My favourites are The Lion King, Ecco the dolphin and Star Ocean.
