Hi
I've brought this subject up numerous times at #wrongplaner irc, and people have responded postively. I've discussed this with alex aswell, and he thinks it's great. Last time we chatted we were debating which voice chat software would be best. At the time iVisit[1] was ahead, but I'm now convinced paltalk[2] is better due to ease of use and its better GUI.
In paltalk I have created a room called 'wrongplanet-AS' in the health section. I'm usually on at the weekends, at about 9pm - 1am, but typically don't have the room up due to inactivity. If you do come by, just search my nick, and if i'm online pm me and I can set up the room. You can also find me at #wrongplnet irc, where you can pm and we can set up the room.
This post is more of an advertisement for my temporary paltalk voice chatroom; hopefully Alex can create a webpage soon, and a link on the homepage that points to details of our new permanent voice chat room. Detailing place, times etc etc.
If you think there is a better voice chat software than ivisit or paltalk, then please tell us
btw, if you don't like the idea of voice chatrooms for whatever reason then I hope you will refrain from posting your reasons why here (u could start a new topic for that), since I'm only targeting those people who want to voice chat, and are interested in the paltalk room i've set up. thanks

I just installed Paltalk. While it's not really spyware, it does try to install additional advertising-related software (it tried to install a popup-blocker, which might have other "functions", and it advertises various toolbar-addons when it starts up).

I have a Ventrilo server if any of you would like to use it. The server is up 24/7.
68.226.73.40
3784
You will need the Ventrilo 2.1.2 client.
Just let me know who I would need to give administrative powers to if you decide to make this permanent (I am assuming that it would only be temporarily, although either way I do not mind). |
