| This may be related to Asperger's or mild Autism, but sometimes when I'm not feeling welll I just wish someone was there (a girl my age who I fantasize about) to nurture me and take care of me. I just want to be coddled, and taken care of. Sometimes I get this feeling. Then other times I just feel like a laid back tough guy who can do anything and doesn't really care what happens. It's a very bizarre feeling to go back and forth between these emotions. Does anyone know what I mean? Could these strong feelings be related to asperger's or autism? |

Maybe,but it could also be a random non-asperger related personality trait.
hey, its possible.i'm sure lots of people get that feeling.

With me it is more often the opposite; I feel the need to nurture and coddle others. Somehow is seems disrespectful to feel like this about real people... so I have created a whole gallery of imaginary characters that I can retreat to "fantasy land" and take care of.

I do this with my Dog. I have strong feelings in both directions. If only I could meet someone that was the same way  |

Nurtured, yes; coddled, no.
I feel a strong nurturing instinct towards my cats. Since it is unlikely I'll ever have children, my cats are my kids. |

I guess being coddled isnt really what I'm after either but I do want someone that is supportive of me that can help me get over the ruts I'm stuck in and help motivate me to get my work done instead of getting distracted. Ideally I would be able to do the same for her as well and we could complete each other. Thats what I would really like.
Also I don't really feel like I've ever had a childhood and I guess theres still a part of me that wishes it could get my childhood back. but I know thats not going to happen. I have been accused of wanting a mother and not a girlfriend before though. because I was looking to them for comfort too much. |

While I probably used to when I was a child, certainly not today.
If I want to be coddled, I hug my pet snake and let him lay on the back of my neck. |
