The media sends false messages all the time so believe in a radio host whos racist himself saying Obama is racist then you're misinform by a conservative radio host who McCain has to apoloize to Obama for the host's actions and words.

The point of this thread is that Obama is supporting reform for all those with ASDs for us live and be accepted better versus what we have been through. An example is being categorized ADA as "mentally retarded" which I take as stupidity toward ASDs people.

If Obama really did "say something" against "white people", I'd bet my life that every major news network would be talking about it constantly. (What with white people being the dominant group in our society and all.) Some conservatives may think that anyone who acknowledges racism against minorities is "racist", but that doesn't make it so. This white person is quite happy to support Obama, in any case.

Same here as well.

It's the old-fashioned version of "I read it on the Internet somewhere"!

Beau, in what context did you hear this? What was the radio program? Did it purport to be news, or entertainment? And what evidence was produced by the speaker to support such an extraordinary contention?

The more I read about Obama, the more I like him. I don't totally agree with all his positions, but much more so than the alternatives. I suspect my country will be better off if he gets the presidency.

OK I can see you political theory is as developed as your biochemistry....

First-go read... a LOT. Start with The Federalist Papers. When you have a good grasp of the theory of the social contract reread what you wrote... The one thing you do NOT want is a society that's ruled by "survival of the fittest", because that means the most brutal killers RULE. Think Ghengis Khan with with automatic weapons, poison gas and nuclear munitions... Read some Jefferson, and some Franklin, then move on to other political systems. Ours isn't good, it's just the best that's been tried so far. Hopefully the current inhabitant of the White House hasn't done irreparable damage.

Obama has his good points. He has his bad points. Overall, his good ones outweigh his bad ones imho. Regardless, I will vote against McCain. A few years ago he made some good points, but in the past 2 years he's gone so far downhill it's unbelievable. Once he knelt down in homage to the Christian Right I found I could never support him. Heinlein pointed out more than once, no matter if you can't find someone you WANT to vote for, you can always find someone you want to vote AGAINST. The important thing is to VOTE. That's part of the social contract too, zendell. Voting is participating in the government.

UTILITARIAN CRAP, John Locke was the guy who influenced the founding fathers with "social contract theory". :Barfs: Read "Genealogy of Morals" if you want a good rebuttal to all that Utilitarian nonsense.

If its between Obama and McCain then I'm for Obama for better reasons plus there are people who dislike McCain causing a switch to Obama among many Republicans.

I generally don't do politics... but I've looked at BO's ( Rolling Eyes ) plan because it seems obvious he's going to be the next president... and found a candidate I can stand behind on this and many other issues, whereas the other candidates just seem full of hot air.

An interesting aside... since the primaries are in TX this week, I've been getting LOTS of recorded phone calls reminding me to support John McCain or Hillary Clinton.

One call from the Obama campaign. From an actual person.

I'll be voting this year, even though I realize "old money" and special interest groups will always be in control. Can Barack REALLY change that? Probably not, but it's worth a shot.
