I have about 201 "Friends" (people who know my name) and maybe three of them actually talk to me. The rest completely ignore me. While I see other people posting on their walls all the time, having long conversations over facebook and I think "Why not me?"

I think I have something like 250 friends. I can't remember. Facebook is great, I can keep up with almost all my friends there. I would say that I talk to the majority of my "facebook" friends frequently, so they aren't just a bunch of random people.

Facebook is the only 'socializing' website I use. It seems a lot more exclusive than the others, although obviously not completely so.

I've got facebook with 205 "friends"

most of them are from either high school (i went to a small private high school so i know them pretty well), or they're either in engineering at my university or are/were rowers with my university (i'm on the rowing team). the rest are either random people who have added me and i feel bad about saying "no you're NOT my friend!" or people that i met at parties or worked with.

i really don't use it for much, it's mostly just to know what events are coming up and to get messages from people/groups (my rowing team uses it a lot).

I'm on Facebook pretty frequently, lol! I have a lot of people on my friend's list who I'd consider friends, but a lot just seemed to randomly add me 'cause they knew me...or they're lonely XD;;

I prefer DeviantArt much more than those other social networking ones. As on DevArt you always have a topic of convosation to start on, plus you get to meet people with the same tates in art. My page: http://sdfilm.deviantart.com/ Smile

Facebook is a double-edged sword.

It's nice to stay in touch with my friends from high school but at the same time I hate being asked to be friends with people I don't know. It's even worse when girls want to ask me out based on Facebook. I actually have on there that I'm in a relationship even though I'm not just to turn them away.

I am not going to post a link or a name here simply because I reserve it for people I know in person.

I'm not allowed on that site. My mom thinks it's unsafe, and I agree with her.

I have a Facebook account. I currently have about 7 "friends" (that should just be renamed "connections to you" kind of thing) and of those 7, I really only know 4; and out of those 4, only 2 of them I communicate to them often. I opened my Facebook account back last March, and it wasn't a pretty beginning, not worth going into. I added a few more friends last fall, but I don't talk to the often, nor do they initiate a conversation to me ether.

Facebook as a whole is a great site over MySpace in a technical standpoint, but when it goes to the users content, I don't really care, never mind Facebook is a site for liberals (sorry for my political rant) and lots of profiles of wild people.

I am tempted to create friends towards people whom I don't know, but I fall back because I don't know how they are going to react on the other end. My first run-in with someone that I sorta knew went sour because I didn't know how to communicate via the Internet with people that I don't even know.

I never gotten many friends on ether my MySpace or Facebook accounts, never got many hits (only north of 400 on my MySpace), messages to people didn't get returned and if I got any friend requests, they were spam.

I guess, I should network the old fashioned way.
