Things about them that drives me nuts:

1. Thinking higher education in an institution is the only way

2. Negativity

3. Seriousness

4. Taking everything too seriously

5. Thinking they know better than you about you and what's best for you

6. Thinking they're perfectly fine and you're not

7. Thinking they're perfectly normal and you're not.

8. Thinking they're successful and happy, when they're clearly miserable and nobody likes them

9. Thinking it's their way or no way... not just for them, but for others too!

10. Thinking that work is the only thing that makes you free.

11. Always living in the future. Work, work, work, for fun in the future, but tey keep working and working and waanting to work forever and don't find their work fun.

12. Aversive therapy is acceptable to these people.

11. Restraints are acceptable to these people.

12. They shame others.

13. They tell others off.

14. They lecture others and won't leave them alone or shut up, but expect you to sit down and shut up and listen to them.

15. They will use unusual ways to make their life (which, since they are so nosy, means mostly other people's lives) more usual (normal).

16. They boss you around.

17. They look and act and seem to feel miserable.

18. They hate themselves because they are starting to need a break or want to eat at Burger King instead of liverwurst sandwiches or go on vacation or admit they're stressed out and need to see a shrink and get some pills or start eating more because they're hungry but their weight is SO important, and their self-control is slipping away from them more and more!

19. One day they're found dead or catatonic or something.

20. Or, if they're lucky, they lose it and sleep in or go into a grocery store and start eating everything in sight or quit their job or dye their hair purple or yawn in public or moan out loud or take a shower that's longer than two minutes, and hotter than usual. And then they just give up on all the rules they live by. They finally forget about the suits and ties, the confident intimidating stride they practise at home, all the home security precautions, the formal hoity-toity nose-in-the-air way of speaking, all that. And then they have nothing, no talent, nothing left, and they get stressed and depressed and kill themselves, or kill some people, or have a stroke, or whatever.

Having one of those talking about how you have AS and it's getting in my way is really odd; they seem to have more AS than me!

Have you ever met a person like this?? I think I've met a few in real life and several online.

Edit: There's a whole league of them after me. Rolling Eyes Freaks.

You know what Ana54? I quit the previous fourm because of 2 members that act exactly what you are describing. gamingforce.org was a great place but the past year it has been getting lower and lower..... I have no idea why some of the people on it are not banned yet.

Aspies can be like that too.

I can be patronizing. But I can't help it. I told some kid off because he couldn't spell the word "dictionary". I told him that he had the intelligence of a duck. "Instead of having a show called "are you smarter than a 5th grader" how about a better show like "are you smarter than Edward Macky"

That was funny at first. But when you patronize people, it felt so good. I don't mean to patronize or put him down. I just spoke the truth. For some reason, it felt good.

I probably become like that under stress, a meltdown maybe.

Yes, I've met people like that.

And that reminds me- I think that my hair would look awesome if it was purple.

Met quite a few like that, and most of them sadly will never change.

There are two types of people in the world I think...those that see everything in black and white....and those that see everything in all the shades and colors of the rainbow...personally I prefer color.

I wonder how to stop people patronizing me. Should I patronize them? Should I tell them off? Should I ignore them? Stay far away from them at ALL costs? Slip some pills into their coffee?

I'm not around any of that kind of person but everyone I've ever known has traits of that and I've had it so much with my mother all these years that I can't tolerate it any more, it's an overdose of people with that personality, so if I hear of or see one of them I feel like throwing up and I get really depressed. So even if it happens once, about something stupid, it bothers me. Because the point is, it's about something stupid, and they care and make your life miserable about it. Or you try to tell them you feel bad and want them to cheer you up, or just spend time with you being happy or sharing their own depression (but positively, not "You suck and I suck"), or whatever, but they don't do that, they just make some stupid suggestion as if your problem is something easily fixed with a movie or a book, or as if you're making it up to get attention, or whatever.

Goodness I didn't know narrow mindness was like that. I thought it was refusing to understand something, not wanting to hear the real truth and the facts, thinking their opinion is right, not accepting someone because of what they are.

My ex was like this and it made me mad so I enjoyed driving him crazy. That's what I do with ignorant people, the people who are narrow minded and don't want to hear the truth or be proven wrong, get so angry about other people's opinions and about what other people do in their life that is harmless. I didn't like it when he called gays faggots and let their life style get to him. He didn't mind his business about other stuff like people living a homosexual life because he was so negative about it and wouldn't want to hear the good stuff about it like they are people too, they live normal lives, do normal stuff. I think the only reason I stayed with him was because I wanted to prove him wrong, wanted to pick on his ignorance-narrow mindedness because it made me so mad. I just don't have respect for them so it's hard to be polite with them and nice when they are acting like that.

Yes tell the ignorance off. I always tell the religious people off who try and shove their religion in my face, whom try and convince me I am going to go to hell because I am different so my comback is 'if people aren't supposed to be different, then why does god make us that way?' I also tell them when they tell me I be burning in hell, I say "so, I wouldn't feel it anyway because I be dead." You can't feel pain when you're dead.

My first ex would shove his opinions in my face and keep arguing with me and wouldn't drop the topic till I agreed. I also hate people like that so I had to pretend to agree to shut him up. To him I was running away from my problem so I told him "What was there to solve? You can't force me to believe what you believe, I am entitled to my own opinions. I had to pretend I agreed with you just so we could move on." I also told him he cannot force people to believe what he believes because everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Most of his was about politics about how our country should run and I tell him it wouldn't work out and it make us all poor and tell him why. I didn't keep arguing with it and trying to shove it in his face till he agreed with me. I express my opinion and done with it. Why keep arguing if someone isn't going to change their mind?

These ones especially. Too many people are too uptight. I can't comprehend why someone would sacrifice half or more of his or her life for the sake of living in a big house and driving a big SUV, and they don't even spare the time to enjoy those things until they've retired tired and worn out to just shuffle around decomposing for their last decade or two of life.

True. I know I'm like that sometimes, especially the "taking everything too seriously" part.

I can never take life too seriously. That's no fun.
