my aspie-boy enjoys building things ~ first it was legos, now it's real-life structures he builds in the backyard.....does vlad have any sensory issues ? if so, how about a weighted blanket, or assortment of fidgets ( theraputty, gooze, metal interlocking puzzles)?
although i feel that video games have their place, i do feel that it would be good to get your son something he can do while interacting with someone else. does he like to cook ? how about board games ? what about the game Scene-it ( it's an interactive dvd trivia game )? |

Sean~ I have got him Pokemond XD for Game cube, he also wantsHarry POtter & the Goblet of fire and Sonic Dash or something like that for his DS ohhh and Kingdom Hearts for PS2. I have also got him the Guiness Book of World records 2006 & the Ripleys Believe it or Not HE LOVES THAT STUFF!
What happened last year is his 4 y/o brother at that time 3 received more gifts than Vlad, but it is just that with like $100.00 you can buy a prescholler TONS! and for a preteen $100.00 only get syou 2 video games! So I just want to get him someother stuff so it wont seem like his brother is getting more (which he is but cheaper).
Keep those ideas coming! |

| My teen never wants anything other that video games either and since they are costly it seems not like much. Now at least ds knows the value of money and knows he is getting his share. But I also will throw in a blockbuster gift card, his favorite candy, guides (which are good for his reading skills too), a journal (since he likes to write even a sentence) again its good for him practicing his handwriting and practical stuff even though he's not that excited about (pjs, undies, etc...) |

| some more ideas: video chair, decorative 'skin' for whatever system he uses, headphones (a gift you may enjoy), some games like flight simulators require special accessories... |

This year I am going to get my children gifts they can share. Which may not go over too well but they get so many other things from our family that there is practically a mountain under the tree.
My son wanted some turtles but in order to give 2 enough room to be comfortable it has to be a pretty big tank. (Here in MN turtles have to be 4 inches across the shell, so they are pretty big.) I went to the pet store and added up everything and it was close to $400.
He likes newts too so I am going to get a fish tank with some newts for him and fish for my daughter. (She's happy with anything.)
Then I am going to get them a PSP to share. Probably one game each and one UMD each.
Plus stocking stuffers.
Isn't that enough? I think so. |

I really never want anything. That makes me either impossible to shop for or really easy, depending on your point of view. Some of my favorite presents of all time were also the cheapest, such as the Lego I got every year from age 4 to 10 (I was *so* dissappointed when I stopped getting Lego gifts) and the boxed set of "Dune" books I got when I was 14. Now that I'm an adult a box of chocolates is more than enough. If I actually need anything then I just go out and buy it myself.
