The other day I was with an aspie friend of mine showing him some photos of mine.

It was revealing as his attention would be totally focused on the walls or buildings as opposed to the faces in my pictures.

He told me he is face blind, and his interests are in buildings.

It made me think that maybe in the same way he is face blind I am blind to things that I find dull.

I find faces and expressions deeply interesting and beautiful, to the point that looking at faces has become a wonderful pastime. I think this has helped me no end with non-verbal difficulties.

So I am deeply interested, can most of our difficulties in the spectrum be overcome by becoming preoccupied and overly focused? And would this extend to face blindness?
