(for those that don't read "general discussion" here it is....
ttp://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/conditions/03/28/autism.essay/index.html
What an honest protrayal of a professional woman who describes her childhood, refers to herself as an aspie, and wouldn't trade who she is for anything. Beautifully example of tolerance for autism/self. |

I saw that in the News forum.
Certainly makes it closer to home for the staff there tho. Makes them more aware. |

what specificly about the article is excellent? _________________ Given that true intellectual and emotional compatability Are at the very least difficult
If not impossible to come by We could always opt for the more temporal gratification Of sheer physical attraction That wouldn't make you a shallow person Would it? |

I thought it was written very well. Did you read it?
I also thought it was refreshing, the way she described the "otherness" she felt her whole life...
I think in order to understand our kids better, descriptions from an older person who grew up with AS is important.
I like that she is successful, overcame her own deficiencies and compensated.
What else can I say? I happen to like confessional writing.
What did you find NOT excellent about it?
