I usually want to get to know someone through PM before adding them to my IM.

Online 'friends' are almost as much hard work as real-life 'friends'. I tried for years to get it right. Either I fell out with people or they cut me off saying I was 'hard work'.

I've had this problem with a few people online. But most who i've met online have been fairly decent people, and some have become rather good friends.
I have better friends online now, than I have EVER had in real life.

I only have 1 online friend of sorts and my ex to talk to after almost a decade of being around.
Overall, I do better offline even though I don't have any specific friends.
I just don't fit in.

I agree that it's harder to work and i've screwed up with a few online, but some I know i'm glad I met them.

I seem to have the same problems online as I do offline. Some people seem to decide to dislike me and I don't know why. Sometimes people misunderstand me when I write something because they read things into it that I didn't mean.

I made a bunch of good friends online by playing an MMOG, that's a "Massive Multiplayer Online Game". I think it's easier for me to socialize online than it is offline, much easier. This group of friends I made (about 4-5 people) that I still hang out with know about my AS, so they know why I don't act normal.
