I forgot to introduce myself. I'm a woman in my twenties, married, and I have a son. I'm going to college right now. I'm pretty sure that AS may be the explanation for many things that make me 'odd'. I would like to learn from you all.

Thanks!

Scarlet

Hi there

Welcome to WP :D

Well, my AS certainly explained everything, loud and clear, so could be that.

Hello everyone, thank you for the welcome. It's friendly around these parts :)
I am studying for my BA in Health Administration, currently I'm taking Medical and Psychosocial Aspects of Chronic Disability, and last night was reading about Asperger's when a light went off in my head.

I've always had debilitating social anxieties - I had to take Speech 3 times before I finally passed :( I am very creative and intelligent, but have difficulties making polite small talk, or being sociable. I was very awkward as a child but have been practicing dance and martial arts with my husband which has helped immensely. I also have very strict rituals and 'quirks' that are odd...as in, I need all labels to face out for all packages in my home, and every day I have a daylong schedule.

It's been so difficult my entire life, being told that I should try harder. I try very hard. They have always said; it's all in your head. Didn't help that my mom was an undiagnosed drug addicted bipolar growing up...

So, that's my story :)

Glad to be here.

BTW - my husband is highly functioning Autistic. Funny it took so long for me to figure this out.

Bonjour!

I'm new here too. Have you tried the online test?

http://rdos.net/eng/

Lots of people here seem to do it. Trouble is understanding the results. I got a big number that said I'm an Aspie but the meaning of the rest of the numbers and graph isn't exactly clear. Anyone know if there is an existing thread on this site about those graphs and how to understand them in not too technical terms?

Thanks for that quiz!

Thank you for filling out this questionnaire.

Your neurodiversity (Aspie) score: 171 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 36 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie (neurodiverse)

Diagnostic prediction for Score Prediction
Dyslexia 185 You very likely will be able to receive the diagnosis
OCD 181 You very likely will be able to receive the diagnosis
ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder) 164 You very likely will be able to receive the diagnosis
Social phobia 162 Your diagnosis is very likely correct
Asperger/HFA/PDD 161 You very likely will be able to receive the diagnosis

Ha! It's so crazy. Like 90% of those questions were like seeing myself on a screen. All the weird things I do/don't realize I do, it's so amazing. Thanks for sharing that with me!

I'm not quite sure what this graph means in comparison to a NT.
