I went to a high school where they thought having AS/autism was funny. Only one person stood up for me and defended me. I'm still good friends with him, everyone else, I'm not on speaking terms with.
I've gotten into numerous fights (both physically and verbally) about this. It's not like I can CONTROL having it, because it was given to me at birth. My mom thinks I should be normal like everyone else and strongly opposes me talking about it to her or my dad.
BTW, I'm 19. |
