Trolls?

I recently came across some posts which mentioned "trolls", and the reporting of them. What exactly is a troll? What am I looking for? Should I report them? Thanks.

A troll is someone who comes to an Internet message board to cause trouble. They're pesky and can sometimes damage the way a community feels for people. It's best to report them to a moderator and ignore them, yes.

Trolls are ppl with nothing better to do than to create an account for themselves and attack a board. They usually leave nothing but viscious and not to mention injurious responses to members within any thread . They sometimes post randomly in many threads. How you can tell is when you see their usernames on a lot of the forums. They also cuss quite a bit . It's best to type Troll Alert or ignore them. Unfortunately for me, I kept stalking this paricular troll telling them to f*ck off. A little stupidity on my part, but I couldn't help it.

To report them go to the forum where it says WrongPlanet.net Discussions, and contact one of the mods listed. Don't forget to mention their username and then the mods will take care of them.

I troll casually sometimes, just cause it can be fun. Trolling is just simply stirring up trouble, it's how it's done and how badly that determines the damage.

Trolls can be identified by their tendency to live under bridges and eat billy goats.

Isn't trolling also coming on a forum and pretending to be something you're not like someone comes on here and they pretend they are a 17 year old girl, when really it's a 25 year old guy who doesn't have AS and he has another condition instead?

i dont agree by posting random stuff since many members do that ..its just posting random stuff

I've seen members post many things randomly without being patrolled come to think of it .

My online friend and I posted random stuff on another forum and I got banned for it yesterday. He used my name to troll the place and I posted only a little while he did the rest.

My Hitler thread was considered trolling. My online friend told me.

Aaah, a person using someone else's account, that always scares me. Yeah, I remember the Hitler thread, at least it lasted as long as it did. Yet I've seen few members get away with way too many posts for a while now with some bad things to say about other members in one forum. I guess we're not suppose to talk about other members but it really irks and confuses me. I've even brought it up with the mods, and no I'm not a tattle tell, but this person kept responding bad stuff after I'd be done posting my thought. It was very violating. I wonder where the line is drawn in that stuff.

I think that trolls enjoy feeding off of innocent people.

There was a troll at another forum I go to recently. This troll caused some trouble. He... or she, I don't know... was banned in about two hours.

But that's the extent of my knowledge.

What forum was this?
