My doctor didn't tell me, he just said he needed more testing and that probably (and he sounded unsure) nothing was wrong. What could be the issue?

There's only a thousand things it could be. We're looking at anything from an overdose of hamburgers before the test to overexercise to a kidney problem to a lab mistake. He'll run more tests and then he'll tell you. It's not time to worry yet.

I hope it isn't a kidney stone developing. If it is, hope that they caught it early enough. Kidney stones aren't fatal or permanent to my knowledge, but extremely painful if they develop.

I believe both sexes can get them, but I am not a doctor. My brother has issues with recurring kidney stones, though.

nothing's wrong with you. We all have protein in our urine.

and men as well as women can get stones of all sorts. Consume phosphorus, calcium, zinc and other minerals? Yes? Then you too can get stones

not so sure about that, when i had kidney failure they tested for protein in my urine to see if i had a urinary tract infection (as well as testing my creatinine levels and other things).

Okay, that sounds better.
Hoping it's not the kidney stone though, that would hurt.

Hi I am a Cassandra, for a better term. I do not understand why I am attacked here, when I am here to attempt to understand what happened to me. I do not understand why people hate FAAAS. I don't even know what it stands for. But I have been attacked for being affiliated with them. Which I am not.

But . . . sports. I am a devoted Cheesehead. I have been in "grief" over Brett Favre retiring. I was around in the Lombardi days. I would like to nominate Brett Favre for sainthood. To hell with that pope. (George Carlin personality peeking out) George Carlin humor, gets lost on people with AS.

I like to train Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. I take them to Hunt Tests and Field Trials. I've been trying to upload a picture of me and my dog(s). I like being outside all the time. I love to ride horses. My idea of the perfect life is owning a horse trailer with a living quarters and traveling with at least one other person to trail ride all over the USA.

Anybody out there interested in any of this stuff???

Maybe if you posted on topic you would be better liked. Cheeseheads or whatever you're talking about has nothing to do with my posts.

Thanks for your reply. How is talking about football and hunting not on this topic??? HEALTH, FITNESS & SPORTS> I "trying" to start a conversation. Maybe one of those social clues that is lost on AS folks. But that is what I am trying to do. START A CONVERSATION about sports, instead of concentrating on all the wrongs done to AS & NT's. My ex taught me a lot about American football. We would watch the Packer games together and he would explain things to me. It made me an even better fan. I am forever grateful to my Aspie ex for that and MANY MANY OTHER THINGS.

Did you read this post? It's about my kidneys. You can create your own board about this stuff, but please don't convert mine.

Excess protein in the urine could be from a lot of different things... bladder infections are a fairly common source. Diet is another one. An infection might also cause excess protein, but those are easily treated with antibiotics.

Usually it's nothing to worry about.

Yep, usually a urinary infection. Kidney stones usually have more than just protein showing up abnormal in the tests. My dad has a problem with them and its always a slightly higher protein count with a couple other things being high or low.
