A couple can't agree on which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join.

A fight about the decision led to a public disturbance with the father's arrest. Joseph Manzanares went to the video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays, police told KMGH Denver.

Police arrested Manzanares at his home, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval told KMGH Denver.

The girlfriend told authorities they were fighting over which gang their son should join. The girlfriend, who is black, is a member of the Crips while Manzanares, who is Hispanic, belongs to the Westside Ballers.

"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised," Sandoval said. "Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim.'"

There are at least six things wrong with that sentence.

This is why I despise hip-hop and gang culture. this is an evil tool used to keep the black community down.

I'm not even black but I hate to see this stupidity firmly engrained in the black community. I really despise the younger generation wanting to be "gangsta" we are in for some serious trouble if we cant wipe out this fake culture and actually strive for sanity.

The "4-year-old toddler" part is wrong, as it is impossible to be a toddler at 4-years-old AFAIK, but that's all I noticed.

But it's not as bad a mistake as wanting your child to join a gang. Confused

Ya, at least they care! Laughing

I mean you don't want to grow up, look back on your life of crime, and realize you chose the wrong one! Good to get the parental guidance in early.

Although the gang thing is part of black culture, I find it odd that they specifically point out that the girlfriend is black, but not the boyfriend.

Mexicans have gangs too, it's not just a part of black culture. Even white people have gangs, whether they are called so or not.

Whites are the biggest consumers of hip-hop culture. Hip-hop hasn't been solely sustained by the Black/Hispanic community since the early 80s (if ever).

There are gangs in just about every culture. In the US alone, there are not only black, white, and Mexican gangs, but also gangs representing other Latin American countries and Asian countries and European countries.

The original black gangsters modeled themselves after the Sicilian mafia, which had already been in the US a long time at that point and are still around, of course. So how are gangs a black phenomenon?

White people have gangs, too. Ever heard of the mafia?

That reminds me, don't you think real gangsters have had their reputation spoiled by gangstas?
