| I'm just gonna be short and to the point here. I keep hearing the word "Troll" being thrown around on the forums, what does it mean? |

Trolls are trouble makers that laugh at the reaction they cause in the forum. (ours are in bouts of hilarity watching this thread, hence the epression: "Don't feed the trolls!"
There are two sub-species of trolls:
The first is simple and easy to remove. this is the type that makes a thread insulting the entire community, which vanishes in two seconds and the troll is ip banned forever.
The second is more insidious. It exists to create strife within the forum, often between two innocent members themselves. It will often invoke Godwin's law and derail an interesting debate. It defends itself with the letter of the law and not the spirit. Witch hunts are called after this sub-species, and sometimes innocents are banned.

But not everyone knows what a troll is. They keep seeing the word but never figure out what it means. I figured a troll was someone who comes on a forum and pretends they are someone who they are not like a guy comes on here and pretends he is a Japanese woman in her twenties. I also thought a troll was someone posting things off topic and posting spam.
But unfortunitly that word gets abused. People call other people it for no reason. They are losing an argument so they call another person a troll.
People don't agree what someone said so they call them a troll.
They don't like someone's thoughts so they call them a troll.
They don't like someone's opinion so they call them a troll.
I think it makes them sore losers and I learned it makes them the troll when they call an innocent person a troll.
There is also trollish behavior. It means someone who hijacks a thread by posting their arguments over and over and using foul language just because other people aren't agreeing what they are saying. Some people do have strong opinions so they try and shove it in other people's faces. This would be more common in religion and politics so expect that behavior when you stumble in those threads.

I've been like that before, but what if I try to register to a forum I've been banned from again and try to be nice?
Because I think people will trust me after a while. It was too late for me to give an apology after I did my bad action.
