Subject: globalized pressure therapy system idea
Date: April 25, 2008 10:03:21 PM CDT
To: idanneman@sportime.com

hello i am alin i have high functioning autism and I have always liked getting my blood pressure taken at the doctors office. I have had dreams several times of creating a blood pressure cuff that is sized large enough to mummy wrap me to my neck and being able to wrap myself up in it and squeeze myself to relax and to to sleep. i know it sounds like a silly idea but the reason i want to model it off of a blood pressure cuff is it would be pretty easy to manufacture and also be very easy for patients and caregivers to use. it would be made to order size to allow for a proper fit for each user, it would come in three different materials, nylon which is the gold standard of blood pressure cuffs, latex which is the second standard and neoprene which is the third standard. my idea for pricing in such a therapy system would be probably 500-3000 dollars per unit.

the benefits to this type of therapy system are very large, it would give said child or adult a physical save haven and also give them the comfort and warmth of being hugged all over by someone, it would allow children and adults with tactile hyposensitivity to relax and sleep more effectively. it would allow children and adults with sensory integration disorder and a predisposition to pressure sores to avoid pressure sores due to the air cushioning them on all angles. and many more benefits i probably cant think of

an extention to my idea would also be a head unit that could be connected to the body unit, the head unit would cover said users head while allowing them to still see (if they choose open eye model) and breathe (obviously not an optional thing)

if you show any interest i will definitely make some concept art in photoshop...

my contact info is as follows

Alin (OTHER INFO REMOVED)

Hope to hear from you soon! i would love to see this dream become reality Smile

I'd be very interested. I love things that feel like hugs. Very Happy

since it uses either nylon latex or neoprene which are all materials that get warm and sticky it is an effective duplication of a very tight hug across your entire body...

the blood pressure cuff at my doctors office was what elicited me to have a dream about such a device, and i decided this would make a great therapy and relaxation system for kids and adults with autism and sensory disorders

the 500-3000 price figure is just an estimate... could be much lower or higher...

however my hope is to get it funded by health insurance for a lot of people... especially those with pressure sore issues.

Now, its time to work on the technical aspects of it. Start making diagrams, write ups, etc.
Eventually, manufacture it, and start a small website to sell them.
