| Hi. My name is Stan. I'm a college student from Kentucky. It's been a while since I've been here. I'm glad to be back. Thanks to this site, I don't feel like such a weirdo anymore. It sucks feeling all alone. I hope to make some friends here and be a friend. |

What college do you go to? I went to EKU, and worked near Berea College. It does suck feeling all alone. Welcome back. |

I'll list things like a fact sheet. It is just easier for me.
I'm originally from Maryland, about 5 miles from Washington D.C.
I served in the Air Force as a munitions specialist during the 1st Gulf War. I spent my entire enlistment in Florida, but we did a lot of support for the war.
After that, I moved out to Idaho and went to university. Make a long story short, I got my BA in History with a minor in Chemistry. I have no regrets with that. Military history is a favorite subject of mine.
I am currently a seed analyst, but if I could quit that job tomorrow I would. The job itself is ok, but the favoritism and discrimination has gone on way to long and way to much.
Get me out hiking, stargazing, or anything away from civilization and I am happier. The beauty in nature is astounding and I can't get enough of it. The wind through the trees, the sound of rain or running water, or the colors of a sunset move me deeply inside.
I don't have any pets, but if I did I like all animals, though dogs are my favorite.
Gaming is my main past-time. I have been a gamer since I was 14. I expect to do that until I die.
Music is therapy to me. I can't play a note (nor read it), but I listen to it daily. Classical, rock, easy, metal, and bits of other things here and there. The 70's and early 80's had some awesome music as far as I am concerned.
This is enough for an intro. I will post a more detailed blog of myself in a week or so. I like WP. I feel normal here. _________________ Ah yes... that hurricane of hate and anger still swirls with reckless abandon within the recess of my soul... may the peace and light in the center of that never-ending storm lead me to that promised paradise... well i've posted a bit on other threads
well the gist of my childhood trauma is my father,
i don't want to sound whiny 'coz people tend to blame
their parents for stuff, i should know better, but his being
and whole personality is really a burden not only to me
but to my mother and 2 younger sisters. i think if we
weren't chinese or if we don't adhere to our culture that much
we would have left a long time ago. despite everything, i'm
overly sensitive when people attacks his character. he's still my father.
i have AS too not as worse as he does coz i can isolate and
keep quiet whereas he's noisy and talks all the time. i don't
believe i can get over this, i feel i'll just die being this miserable forever. |

| HI! My name is Lauren, and I was recently tentatively diagnosed with AS, although I have suspected it for sometime. I'm from South Louisiana, but spend most of my time in Oklahoma City where I go to college. I'm a double major in history and political science with a minor in bible. I'm recently engaged to a wonderful man who loves me for my socially retardedness (I know it's not PC, but it's how I best describe my Aspie symptoms) and odd obsessions (he thinks it's cute). I guess that's about it. My life is pretty boring. |

Hello, my name is Matthew.
Although I work in the computer industry and have been doing almost everything on the internet for years, I hate to admit I have almost no experience with forums and blogs.
I am 33 years old and live just outside the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I only discovered Aspergers recently and am incredibly excited by it. I suddenly am able to point my finger at exactly what is "wrong" with me. More importantly, I can stop looking for what is wrong, because nothing actually is. I just am different. I am a very intelligent individual and have been able to do a pretty good job of pretending in order to fit in. I have spent years studying philosophy, psychology, history, law, etc. in order to try to understand human nature and how I am supposed to interact with it. I don't "get it" naturally but I have learned enough to commonly do what was expected. But I have to try hard, and it is pretty common that people assume that I am "off"or weird or a freak. Most people just have assumed that this is because I am "smart" or eccentric.
What do I like? I study everything. I need to understand how the world works. I am an avid reader. Unfortunately, I have already read almost all the books that would be called "classics". Have always enjoyed the sci-fi and fantasy genres for light entertainment. I write a lot. Philosophy mostly. I have spent a lot of time in bars since this is one of the few places I could let my hair down and try to socialize. Or pick up girls. I also used to enjoy acting but have not done it in a long time, except for working at the renaissance festival. I like fine things. I dress luxuriously. My wardrobe is all silk or cashmere (or softer wools or leather). When I first read about aspergers I knew it fit me but I just had to laugh when I came across that "softer" clothes was sometime a characteristic since that has always been my trademark.
I am not an ambitious person at all but I skyrocketed to a good job in the IT industry in my early 20's. Made just enough to be pretty comfortable and did not try to do any better. Then a few years ago I was laid off and had a hard time until recently.
Does that sum me up? |

I feel the same about my son. He has always been such a joy to me, but he is very unhappy. He is 24 and finding it hard to make his way in this world. I wish he would visit this site. He could see that he is not as alone as he feels.
Thank you for reminding me how blessed a I am. I only wish my son could see himself through my eyes then he would not be so sad but proud of who he is. |
