I'm obsessed with filling my I-Pod and making sure that every cd (Even obscure local releases) has album artwork.

I then can spend hours (if left to my own devices) just skimming through cover-flow looking at all the album covers, or going through my entire collection (just over 6k songs and counting) and making sure I have album covers for each and that the quality of the cover is clear and distinct.

If I see a CD that doesn't have a cover, I make a mental note to add one next time i'm on the net, or its like a thorn in my side, I hate that there isn't an album cover. I then try and think of ways of getting the album cover, by either googling, or scanning the cover in.

I also get annoyed when I have downloaded MP3s, for example one whole album - and the encoding or such has made the volume of maybe one particular song uneven. So the whole album is at one level, then one song is a bit softer and sounds a bit lesser in quality. I will then if money is available, purchase the cd, just to ensure I have the right versions, or I will go nuts on the net downloading copious versions of the same song, to see if there is one that sounds the "same".

Anyone else do this?

I do that too. I just went through all my songs and albums. The thing I don't like about some album covers is the stupid Parental advisory sticker, so I searched the net for Original LP versions of most of the albums without that sticker or the little CD logo that's on some of the artwork.

I want the whole cover and nothing messing it up.

I'm glad my MP3 player doesn't have a color screen, I'd probably do that too Embarassed

I actually like the hell out of that PA sticker. I think it looks quite cool.

I'd never manage to even get 50% of mine done, but I can imagine the brilliance of flicking through them. Probably not as good as flicking through the records in my record browser.

I hate how some albums will get that sticker just for having one F word in the whole album, whereas anything with Ozzy live will have swear words up the wazoo and no sticker. I don't get it.

Yes, but not all Ozzy Osbourne songs even have swearwords. So not the best of examples there. I do take your point, but I'm not really an expert on obscene music xD

Only about twenty or so songs out of about 130 have album covers on mine.

I guess, but I don't see how all the swearing between the songs is exempt Confused

Only other examples I can think of are old albums which they probably didn't bother to evaluate.
