Ppl call me goth......
I do love all the old 70s-80s goth rock bands..... even a few of the newer gothic metal bands
All my clothes are black dark red and dark blue..... And I think theres some purple aswell
I've never been in a Hot Topic
I've never called myself goth...... its always other ppl that call me it....... meh its better then been called emo or mosher |

| Nowhere near goth. I listen to some goth-inspired music, sure, but in general I wear bright colors and appear very happy. |

Quite belated, I'm afraid, but thank you. ^^
The thing that makes me angry about the stereotype of "goth" is that people think that it exists because people want to be unhappy. I never went into it because of that reason, and I think very few people actually do either. I am into gothic imagry and clothing because I think it's beautiful. Not everything that is aesthetically pleasing is colored in primary colors and pale pastelles. I've found very beautiful and meaningful art in cemeteries in the form of tombstones; not in a morbid way, but because it is a statue often using traditional imagry in rememberance of a loved one.

I like the general Goth collective. But there's so many different offshoots that I don't really associate myself with the title anymore, due to the fact that most "goth" discussions end up as stupid goth-or-not contests and/or music snobbery..
And by the way, hot topic is just a store. That's it. Totally not worth the debate.
But. If I must categorize myself, I'd probably fall into the gothic-hippie spectrum. Musically I prefer: Nick Cave, Dead Can Dance, Cinema Strange, Bauhaus.. some industrial/EBM but I like VNV Nation type stuff better.
