that list just makes it look even worse that SEGA are not in the hardware industry anymore.
they need to come back, they and nintendo offered something that the others didn't.

SEGA's only true success was the Genesis right? This doesn't count add-ons like the 32x or SEGA-CD.

It's obvious why they left the hardware part of it.

True. It's too bad the Dreamcast wasn't more successful though. Of the 4 consoles of the last generation it easily had the best first year.

It's also too bad Sega's flopped as a 3rd party developer. I don't know what happened to make them forget how to make games after shutting down the Dreamcast.

It doesn't really matter. The arcade industry in nearly dead at this point.

The upcoming "Street Fighter IV" arcade cabinet might change that depending on how common it is. Street Fighter II must be the most popular arcade game ever.

to me i think sega went downhill waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before they even went from being a hardware house to a 3rd party developer, the flops of the Mega/Sega CD,32X, Saturn and Dreamcast did them no favors, plus i also agree that sega have kind of lost that game making magic(if you will) if you look at games like 360 sonic, Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog, and even that half arsed GBA port of the 1st Sonic The Hedgehog game, should be enough to show they have really gone downhill as of late
