Here's another problem I have in my special ed class: it seems mostly everyone in that class seem to pay more attention to the other kids (who seem more NT-like than autistic) because they seem to know a lot about stuff I don't even know or don't care about, like current events, social skills, more "serious issues" (sex, drugs, etc.) politics, how to do a science project, presentations, etc. and I usually get ignored (and sometimes teased about it) most of the time because of that.

Just because you have someone's attention doesn't necessarily mean you have their respect...

I happen to be one of those NT-like people and the opposite situation is in my SPED class. All the people who have the problems get a chance to speak about all the crap that I think is boring and pointless (i.e school, pokemon, yes these guys are high school students and they can't get enough of pocket monsters!, or whatever seems to be going on at home, not the juicy stuff mind you but the pointless crap. Methinks they've mastered smalltalk a little too well.

You don't belong in special ed then.
You seem to get what's going on, and apparently nobody else around you does.
