Okay, so I'm running two machines on a lan, one with windows xp sp2, the other i was able to get the latest version of ubuntu on. Now how in the hell do I get the systems to share their drives with each other? I can do it in windows fairly easily, but I haven't delved into linux much besides a few non-networked barebones systems testing out a couple different distros (and some vm's),... so no practical networking experience in any linux distro... I clicked on network and it gave me a "Windows Network", inside which were a couple workgroups, but the workgroup my other machine was on is empty...

Samba ftw. WOL (wake on lan) is great too if ya wanna automate turning on the other system when ya boot up ubuntu, just make sure to have the script in rc.local wait long enough for the win computer to boot before attempting to mount it's shared stuff, or have it spam it for a certain amount of time.
