ok...so we've got Texas...you're by the beach, right, Tim? Pennsylvania, which is where I have some family too. Our nation's capital, which isn't outrageously far from most of PA or Baltimore; Virginia...Ohio, Indiana. What about some of the southerners? I know we've got people in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia....!!!
So to the semi-east coasters...anyone ever been whitewater rafting? I love it...google Beckley, West Virginia and see how far it is from you. It's about 8 hours from me, but I'd make the drive 'cause it's a raging good time. |

I'm just outside of Houston, which is by the beach.
I've heard of Beckley. Isn't it also a ski resort? _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

Houston? San Marcos is closer to Austin and San Antonio. I live near it. Is there others who live in this area? Have there been meetups out here? _________________ Green means go.

There's probably skiing there too. It gets pretty decent snowfall. The Gauley and New Rivers run through there, and there's also hiking, horseback riding, ATVs, rock climbing, camping, etc. |

The blue anchor is on the north side of the bridge, i haven't been there myself, criss has organised it, but it sounds nice. |
OK!

I am living in Houston during the summers. The school I will be attending is in San Marcos. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

I know that school. Did meet any cool Aspies or find any groups while you were out here? _________________ Green means go.

Haven't met anyone at Texas State (formerly Southwest Texas State) yet. I previously went to a school in Wichita Falls (Midwestern State), and the nearest Aspies were in Fort Worth.
I won't be moving to San Marcos until late August. _________________ When you need something, that's a responsibility, that only an adult...of my maturity...Bunnies!!!

Howdy again Texan Tim! JK, I don't really talk like that.
Oh okay, I'll be transferring from San Antonio College to University of Texas at San Antonio in the Fall for Computer Science and Math. How about you? I've met a few Aspies out here, mostly from the San Antonio Linux User's Group. The others claimed to be Asperger's but didn't really seem like it to me. I saw one of them doing too well in social situations.
Hey Tim, don't forget you've got me on Myspace too. _________________ Green means go.

A few us of are planning a Bay Area and Northern California WP meet-up.
The date we have in mind is June 7th.
We are discussing going to the train museum in Petaluma, but we are open to any other suggestions. |

The Train Museum is still cool with me, Alcatraz would also be interesting. I grew up in the Bay Area and the only time I have seen Alcatraz was in the Dirty Harry movie The Enforcer and So I married an Axe murderer.
BTW EvilKimEvil when you do get around to visiting the De Young Museum you will find a really big drum from New Guinea there, it looks like it could transmit sound for a very long way with favorable conditions. _________________ "But except in dreams, you're never really free" Warren Zevon |

Woah, that big drum sounds cool! And I would like to go to Alcatraz as well because I am interested in prisons. When I went to Maine, I once drove for hours just to tour the old Maine State Prison before they tore it down (the inmates had already been relocated to the new prison).
I have communicated with another Bay Area member who might want to join this meet-up. He said he would prefer someplace indoors that is not overly crowded or noisy due to sensory issues. But he said we should go ahead and plan as we wish and he'll then decide whether or not he wants to go this time.
With these meet-ups, I don't know if it would be friendly or invasive to PM other members who have made it known that they are in the area, just to let them know. I want to spread the word, but I don't want to creep anyone out. What do you think? |
