I've been bullied ever since I started school, I never knew why and still don't. I have always told family what happened and they go to the school and tell the teachers whats happened, but they always come up with the excuse that i'm oversensitive and would never do anything about it. I lasted through primary school with a very high mark on the 11+. I thought that the grammar school would be better because we would be in the same intellect group (I always thought that people didn't like me because i got better marks). It was about half a day in and it all went to heck and proved my theory wrong. I missed 40% of the school year and my grades plummeted from an A* to D's and worse. I made it through year seven but I began to resent it more and more until I fought back and hit someone that hard that they fell over. Now i'm not a violent person but i had finally had enough. Teachers and even the headmaster had known that people pick on me but still didn't do anything about it. However I got three after school detentions but when they do something to me, they got nothing more than a 'don't do it again.' I cried for hours when i got home. This very same thing happened about 5 times more before anyone finally realised something was wrong. The school put me in a one-to-one class but it is not permanent. I am really worried about going back into the lessons. I feel bad about writing something like this as my first post but i really don't know what to do.

I was always picked on too, I know it sucks. I would say just ignore them, but that doesn't really help.

Are you in private school or public school? I was put in private school, where I was never accepted and never had friends. This was 4th through 10th grade.
When I was older, I demanded to go back to public school. (They couldn't stop me, since I was almost the legal drop out age.)
I did much better there, since there were all kinds of different people, so I was generally accepted.

I never had great grades, but again, in the private schools it was a really big deal.

I don't know your situation, but if you have any say, you might consider a different school/ kind of school. I'm not saying it would fix your problems, but it might be a big improvement. It can't really get worse, right?

Everybody's different. In my case, the more personalized attention and smaller classes I had, the worse I did. I don't like attention, too much pressure. Put me in a big class and ignore me, I did all right.

Just my perspective for you, hope it helps some.

I see what you mean but it must be different in Texas because I find it harder in public schools.

Well, try to figure out what kind of enviroment you do best in, then try to find something similar.

Other than that, about all you can do is wait and they'll eventually get tired of it, or distracted by other things.

I can't believe nobody else is jumping in on this one, normally they're all over any new posters. Maybe you should re-post it so it goes back on the front page, and give them another shot. There's got to be people with better advice than me....
Things have probably changed since I was in school, too.
