Lol...i've been told by my orthodontist that I have a mouth the size of a 6 year olds.
I seem to grimace as well when I try to smile...I'm not sure if thats due to my mouth being small or some other factor(s).

Anyway, no I don't show my teeth when I (try) to smile. In photos now, I've learned it's just best for me to keep a neutral face as apparently if I force a smile I look like a psychopath. :?

Haha! I've pretty much given-up trying to smile for photos. Even my natural smile is much like a awkward, giddy, gawky grimace. I just stick to a neutral expression now too.

I only smile in photos if someone makes me laugh.

I have a really creepy fake smile that I do sometimes to be funny, though =D

lol, my orthodontist told me I had 'shark's teeth' (they slope inwards a bit)- I took it as a complement and decided I didn't want braces after all! A friend once told me that I didn't need fangs for Halloween because I already had them!

I only show my teeth when I am really really happy/ caught off guard, or if I'm trying to fake a smile... usually the latter. Or if I want to scare people :P

I can do both. I hate showing my teeth though, I need braces.

According to my dentist I do and I also think my "fake" smile ----the kind you give people who you don't want to be scared of you...also looks lopsided and I am probably send some kind of NVC that I don't intend. When I am really really amused I think it just looks like I'm insane<---vast improvement. Lucky for me, that is pretty rare and seldom happens around other people

yeah, I have the fake smile I turn on and off like a light...mainly in dealing with people. I have tea-stained teeth, and no money for a dentist. At least, aside from that, they're in excellent shape.
but I start to feel like a fake once my teeth are exposed. In fact, when I'm rendering pictures, I don't make the characters' teeth smile...;)

I put yes because I have trained myself to do so for pictures and because when someone I am comfortable being around makes a good joke I will show my teeth. When I do smile in public around people I don't know it is generally not showing any teeth. Fortunately my teeth are in good shape.

Showing teeth feels like a posture of aggression to me, very feral. I know other people do it, my mom's easy with the flashy fake smile, but that's just what it appears to be to me - fake. I think the lopsided grin is about the most expressive expression of approval I ever give, unless you can make me laugh out loud, which is rare.

I used to show my teeth (not intentionally, it just happened naturally) upon smiling, but since my teeth started to fall apart (and I had to have several extractions), I'm too embarrassed to reveal them anymore. Actually, it now hurts my face (the muscles) to smile & I'm not sure why. Sigh.
