Well, the issue is that you are holding one particular microorganism (or rather, one colony) accountable for the "crimes" of another, which isn't really fair as you are asserting guilt on the basis of species identity, which makes you just as bad as the Nazis who wanted to kill Jews because some of them were rich bankers who controlled a great deal of wealth. The rickettsia that killed Anne Frank is long dead, and it would be unfair to hold another member of the same species responsible for a death it did not cause.
Of course, I am going into a profession (virology) where I will assist in socially-sanctioned genocide efforts against those species deemed "undesirable." I in fact will end many billions of trillions of individual lives (far more than Hitler ever came close to) during various cruel experiments as I am trained to help carry out the true "final solution" to the "influenza problem."

Not with those "parasites."   We can never coexist with this enemy! We are the "master species!"  We will eradicate all who oppose us! "My struggle" against orthomyxoviridae will end their complete annihilation!

Why, thank you.  It would seem I do not care for life, as I am selfishly preserving one life at the expense of literally trillions of others, simply because the one happens to look like me and the other is too small for most people to feel empathy toward it. I am actually just postulating that life A has value and life B does not, so it is justifiable to end life B in service to life A. This is the same reasoning I use whenever I eat: my life has value, a cow's does not. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable for a cow to die for my supper. Indeed, you must invoke this reasoning even as a vegetarian, for how is your life more important than that of the plants who died for your salad?
Now, what is the basis for postulating which life does or does not have value? I say simply that only human life is valuable, that makes a nice clean distinction and makes several moral choices much easier. Vegetarians for some unknown reason decide to draw the line with the animal kingdom (though I doubt they care to protect a sea sponge) except for some who arbitrarily decide to leave fish out of the "valuable life" category. And then you have some environmentalists who believe the life of a tree has value, but not the life of a tomato that they eat.
Hm, this itself could be an interesting debate. Whether life intrinsically has value, why, which life has value, whether it is justifiable for one life to end another for its own preservation (heterotrophy), where we draw the line at which life is seen as having value, etc. I might make a new thread for this tomorrow if I feel like it and no one beats me to it.

I am a breatharian because I don't like having to kill things. I maintain myself through prana, a mystical life force. Have practiced this for many years now too.
