I know water is essential and very good for me, but I can't stand the taste of water. Everyone has told me it's a 'hard' water problem. That most filters (unless you have a water softener thingie) don't get rid of the hardness. Water, in general, tastes funny/off to me all the time. It tastes like I'm drinking rocks, because I can tell it has a lot of minerals in it that aren't being filtered. I remember the last time I had pure (good tasting) water was almost ten years ago and that was because I was getting snowmelt straight off the mountain. I thought that a lot of the problem was when I was buying bottled water a lot awhile back it was the plastic from the bottle giving it a funny flavor.

I've had to get flavored water in order to get my water requirements (the non-calorie/non-sugar stuff), and at least I know why that doesn't taste so great (no cals/sugar), but it's the only thing I can stand.

Is this an issue for anyone else?

I actually like water that's full of minerals and such. The water at my grandparents' cabin in the mountains had the most amazing water - it was always ice cold and tasted slightly of iron and copper.
What I have problems with is overly-filtered and chlorinated water. City water drives me nuts. Tap water shouldn't taste like a swimming pool. Overly-filtered water tastes like sunscreen to me, I'd prefer the original hard water.

I don't like water in plastic jugs either. That's why favorite comes from a glass bottle. =)
I don't know if it exists in the states (I'm in England) but it's called belu water. It's a great company, they only use glass bottles or compostable corn-based plastic (that doesn't taste like plastic!) and they are involved in lots of good things.
Oooh, seems they have a website http://www.belu.org/

How I get most of mine as well. I really would like to live someplace cold enough year round to drink coffee and tea.

Huh. I actually prefer the minerals in the water... mum has this water softener thing and it tastes like soapy water. It's gross.

Course, I don't drink hardly any sodas, only tea and water.

I was drinking water for three days straight, last week, and I've ended up having a mild strain of the flu, for two and a half days.

Water is my most favorite thing to drink. It's been this way since I was young, I've always been a big water lover.

However, I can't stand the tap water in my area, and only drink bottled water when in the house. I live in the city, so tap water out of the faucet is terrible. But I have no problems with water fountains.
Back when I lived in the desert in a very small town, I loved the tap water there.
So nowadays, I only drink bottled water.

Most people I know hate water period; they say it has nada flavor. I disagree, because water has a taste in my opinion, and I love it.

I've always had some kind of aversion to water. When I was a kid my mother struggled to wash me, I was afraid of water, my father tried to take me to the swimming pool but it only worsened the aversion. Today I still have some "problems" with water, when I wash myself a part of me is still afraid that water could produce some damage, and when I drink (unless I'm very thirsty) I drink very little sips, it takes ages to finish a glass of water Wink

I like drinking water, especially flavored. In the tea aisle in the supermarket they sell these powdered tea packets that you pour into your water bottle, shake the bottle to mix it in, and you've got flavored water, with the added benefits of antioxidants since it is tea you're pouring into your water, after all. Wink I also have a cup of plain green tea every morning for breakfast.

That is a really cool web site...I have never liked water from the tap because of all the chlorine smell and taste but I found a method that saves me money, saves the environment and doesn't taste bad. I take several 32 Oz plastic bottles and fill them half way with filtered water and put it in the freezer. When I am thirsty, I take out the bottle and fill it with more filtered water and the cold and melting frozen water in the bottle kills the water taste. I can bring it with me when I go to work and it stays cold several hours. I just wash the bottles and reuse them so I always have one to drink at home or take with me . It really works and keeps bottles out of land fills and saves me a lot of money. Give it a shot.

I also hate water, I remember back in elementary school when they taught us "water is colorless, smell-less and tasteless" I would always reply "That's a lie water tastes awful!"
hehehe
