Threadkilling is hardly a hanging crime. Nor is having a long signature. You can't foresee if your comment will kill a thread so why would anybody warn about that. A long signature might take up more space but some people have been known to write long screeds in their posts and I don't think anybody objected to that. |
Long signatures can disrupt posts, thank you muchly. That is why we have both a character limit and a restriction on images and scripts. And MissConstrue isn't the only one to have been warned about signature line size. |
Doesn't it cut it off if you use too many characters though? There have been several times when I've attempted to use a quote that was too long; it simply showed what fit inside the character restriction, then the rest was deleted.
And no, I've never been warned.

I had nothing cut off and have been warned. I think it was rather the space than the characters.
