I actually am using a story I had the prelude for already written. But, it doesn't violate the rules, because I don't have to design the characters, for the most part. Many of the key Characters ARE real people, and much of it is set online.... Including on WP.net

Anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year? I had intended to do it last year but well RL didn't permit it, may try this November. |

I probably won't. I write novels when I feel like it, and there are no actual prizes, are there? No opportunity to get published... _________________ At moments when monsters spawn in by rising up from the ground, it turns the action into a gory, protracted session of Whack-A-Mole.

I'm going to do NaNoWriMo this year. But that's a long way away. I'm currently doing JulNoWriMo, and next month it's on to AugNoWriMo.
It's not such a crazy goal. You have to do 1667 words per day to keep up. According to author Laurence Block, the normal working writer does about 5 pages a day, which is about 1430 words a day, and some writers do double that.
Of course, it is crazy to expect ME to keep up with that pace.....
I've found doing WriMos is helpful to encourage me in good working habits as a writer, but I'm sure there are writers who would not find it helpful. |
