I was wondering, if Autism and Aspergers could have something to do with weight in some special cases?

Like me, when I was born, I weighed 4,5kg's, that's 1kg more than what I should've weighed for my height (50cm's). Pluss my head was 4-5cm's bigger in circumference.

What do you reckon about this question?

I was 3,4 kg and 50 cm when I was born. Some people with severe autism are macrocephalic, but most aren't. 4-5 cm isn't really that much.

My head wasn't only wider, it was a bit taller too. My head look huge when you see pictures of me as a baby.

It is normal for babies to have heads larger in proportion with their bodies. ALL babies are like this. I think you are grasping for straws trying to say because you were a bigger baby that has something to do with autism. The is a great variation in weight and height of babies based on the mother's health and diet, family genetics and ethnicity, whether diabetes runs in family, and even time of year of conception.

I know that some studies concluded that about half of all autistic babies have smaller than average heads at birth. Height and weight were not specifically different from the non-autistic population.

Studies also said that at 2-6 months after birth, there is a sudden rapid increase of head size.

A weighty (and heighty) issue topic

I have been saying this for years. Thanks, Ticker. Very Happy

I just can't think of any correlations between autism and anything.

Which was why I posted the remark about results of studies.

There seems to be no correlation between bigger heads at birth/more weight and ASDs right now.

I've been told that for the first two months after delivery, the doctor was keeping an eye on me due to my head being unusually large. I was also quite thin, and a "solid baby." All of these patterns have persisted. Wink

I believe I was 6 lbs. 5 ounces.
