I wasn't sure whether or not to post this in adolescent/teen forum because I'm 15 or health and fitness. At a recent 2mile race, I just happened to run next to this girl I like almost the entire time; she is a bit slower than me and I was out of shape. It was very strange for me to spend 13 minutes almost shoulder to shoulder with someone I'm attracted to. I have never had a girlfriend, a date, or almost any friends who are girls. Usually I glance at the girl I like from a safe distance which is the opposite of this strange event, but I just felt like mentioning it because of how weird it was. Running seems to open doors I didn't even know existed.

For me, i always find social interaction with a purpose alot easier than just meeting up with friends. I've met and got on well with a few people in this way. I play in a snooker league and i love it. However, when a night out was arranged at Christmas, i made my excuses not to go, because i couldnt face the general social situation.

Keep up the running

I can relate. I stopped going to school dances because I feel as though I need to inteact but can't. I don't know what snooker is, but being social by running local races or playing in a snooker league is better for us aspeis than bars or parties. I think it lets us gradually socialize instead of being thrown into a bar or party environment where I get confused and uncomfortable to say the least. I read an article on WP about how it is better to meet someone in this way, where we're on the same team so to speak, instead at the regular dating scene, where I'm confused again.
