Aspergers is like driving a car when you only have one arm and one leg.
That was a dumb analogy... _________________ ACHTUNG all WP'ers...I will not be online from Aug 18th for a while due to a house move. I'm still alive and well but might not have internet access for some time. So long!

Asperger's is like constantly being dropped in a foreign country without knowing the language while wearing a fencing mask. Or maybe a hockey mask.

ooh, good one, fantom!
Ummm, asperger's is like being stoned without being high. No playfulness, no giggly munchies, just confusion, cool ideas you can't communicate and people think you're stupid. _________________ "...and the Geeks shall inherit the earth, middle and stars." Gates 3.14 |

Like being really jacked on heroin, only instead of easing the pain, it amplifies it to the point where you seek other drugs.
Bad analogy, that's how I would describe for other people.
Mine is just like being Ayn Rand. |

I like to say that my mind doesn't cooperate with its own thoughts. That sums it up the best for me.
I want to do things that normal people do, but something keeps me from doing them.
Latey though, I've been able to start saying, "Ok, brain, I'm overruling your decision. I'm going to do this anyway or I'll kick myself later for not doing it." Especially for social situations. _________________ Well. That was a hastily unloaded pile of incoherence. |
