I was always arguing and disagreeing with him.

But it's just not the same without him, I feel like a lost lamb. Sad

I heard he just got sick of arguing with people and decided to leave.

He's got his opinions, nobody may agree with them, but he's still entitled to have them.
I even think parakeet should come back, we both have cockatiels so I feel like I have
something in common with him, and anybody who can put up with a house full of those
noisy little birds is ok in my books.

It makes sense. I didn't agree with his views, but I don't see what makes mine any better other than the value I give to it. People here argue and argue, but even worse they argue with some sense of superiority. Ragtime was also guilty of this however, so I don't know what to add other than: Wrong Planet is a place for arguments which never end until the person just feels like leaving it altogether.

Ragged out topic

I do miss his views. I had no problem with his ideas, even if I was diametrically opposed to them.

They are unique and never boring. I hope he finds a site more to his liking. Smile

I also miss Iamnotaparakeet. A fine intellect in a young man.

I didn't read anything over the top posts from parakeet, I don't get why anyone had a problem with him. I thought he was a cool sort. Cool He said his beliefs and didn't put anybody down or anything.

Why did parakeet leave? Same reasons?

I did see Raggy over on parakeets forum, not that I joined up there. he might just be taking a break too.
I think parakeet left over a disagreement with the mods, but he wasn't banned, there was a hate thread made
about him, that wasn't very nice.

See, this is why I never bother putting any effort into political posts anymore. All the good posters get run off because Alex Plank is an ultraliberal would-be fascist, and the people he picks as mods aren't much better. All the people who can actually put together worthwhile posts get driven off or (in the case of Sean, Scrapheap, and myself (twice)) banned.

Well, it is Alex's site. Should he not be free to run it however he wants? This site continues to be the largest of it's kind. He must be doing something right.
