For those who've seen the movie, is it just me or does Wall-E appeal to the aspie in you as well?

Hi gang,

I saw it on Saturday night and have been chewing on this question since then ...

Glad to know I was right!

I saw this on opening night, I loved it! It's cute without being sickening, and it really does appeal to everyone, aspies and NT's alike.

I'll probably just wait for it to come out on DVD as my daughter will want to play it over and over I'm sure. We're on Day 8 of the never-ending "Monsters Inc." run. It used to be Nemo,(Nemo lasted for 2 months) she works her way through them all eventually.
I do really want to see it through, being the tree-hugger that I am Ive heard I'll like the message.

Doing the same task over and over again, obsessively collecting useless items just because they look funny, empathizing with an insect, replaying just one scene of a forgotten movie, falling hopelessly in love with a femme fatale, never knowing its proper place...

Why didn't they cast me as Wall-E? Very Happy

Watched it with my boyfriend (Aspie) he ADORED it (as did I, until my attention wavered) is it a coincidence that he loves it? Could it be like cocaine for Aspie's?

I am the aforementioned boyfriend.

Can confirm that Wall-E is indeed awesome.

Not just the film itself, but the visuals, the detail, simply staggering.

Ok...I'm all for recycling as much as the next guy, but this movie was just one big public service announcement, making it a stinking pile of filth.
PSAs ruin every movie.
Take Pom Poko for instance...
It was an interesting and charming movie, but the end was just a "save the forest" spiel.
I just don't think it's great to force your opinions on other people's children.

I liked that movie quite a bit myself. Didn't care too much for or about the message (I will agree that trying to force morals into entertainment often makes them work less well than they could otherwise), but Wall-E was adorable. I just wanted to give the puppy-eyed robot a hug. :3 The really sweet scenes between him and Eve made me very happy. I wish more stories (and more real life situations) had that innocent feel to them that the relationship between them did.

Am I the only one that noticed that when it comes to the "Buy'N'Large" mentality, Disney is one of the biggest culprits? Laughing
