AQ - 42/50
EQ - 23/80
FQ - 76/135
SQ - 28/80

AQ - can't really comment!

I think for the EQ, I'm possibly a bit of an anomaly - I cannot for the life of me tell how someone else is feeling, but I like trying to put myself in their shoes. I Like thinking 'if I were in that situation, I might feel like this. I also love trying to see different viewpoints, and why those may arise - I may not necessarily be good at it but nonetheless I love trying!

FQ - friendships are very important to me; I'm constantly anxious about how my friends view me, and I'm sometimes rather paranoid that I'm ruining the friendships. Perhaps it's because I'm really rather insecure?

SQ - I'm extremely methodical in certain aspects, but not in others. I often wonder how certain things work, if it randomly interests me, but if I'm not interested then I really am not! If I'm interested in something I'll wonder about it and become obsessed to an extent (if not beyond Rolling Eyes ) but if it doesn't interest me then I couldn't care less. If that makes any sense. Ie certain information I will catalogue and research, but otherwise I'm not bothered. If I'm interested then I'll probably be systematic, but if not then I won't. Argh! Does anyone understand that?!

Thank you very, very much for putting those links up! Oh I've just seen that 'the master page' was a link ... shall take a look. I was about to ask if someone could post the scores Embarassed

Oh, and I knew the AQ and EQ tests were online, but they've NEVER worked for me, so extra thanks to Archimedes Smile

AQ: 41
EQ: 19
FQ: 37
SQ: 32

My AQ has gone up since last I did that test - it is usually around 37. I think this may be because I have been feelig more down lately, and I understood a couple of the questions better. (<i>As a child did I enjoy playing games that involved pretending with other children </i> being one of them. I did enjoy imagination games, but mostly alone!)

I also feel I have become more comfortable admitting that I am not actually that interested in the minutiae of other people's lives - I am much more interested in discussing their interests than who they first kissed!

I think my AQ score was about the same as last time I took this test.
The EQ was low... Which I find interesting as I can easily empathize with things on TV but with friends etc it is quite difficult.

Here's my scores:

46/50 AQ
12/80 EQ
32/135 FQ
51/80 SQ

The friends quotient is proably based on how I like to interact with friends, more on doing things than for the relationship, however, some have seen me as a good friend (probably because I am not backstabbing or underhanded.) Oh and I listen well and offer good ideas on helping situations (not emotionally)

Hey, I find it easier to sympathize with characters on tv than with people IRL, too. Smile Interesting.

I suppose that if it's OK for Wired and the Guardian, then it's OK for me also.

From that Guardian article; in ()'s are my figures:

EQ:
Asperger: 20 (9 - 33)
Normal male: 42 (26 - 51)
Normal female: 47 (37 - 59)

0-32: Below average
33-52: Average
53-63: Above average
64-80: Very high

SQ:
Asperger: 40-50 (20 - 52)
Normal male: 30 (19 - 42)
Normal female: 24 (15 - 34)

0-19: Below average
20-30: Average
40-50: Above average
51-80: Very high

Notice that the two sexes overlap significantly; one must be careful to to avoid making "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" inferences of strict difference.

As to how I did it, I extracted the text and the scoring from the original PDF's, and then ran some programs that wrapped them in the appropriate HTML and JavaScript. The ranges I optained from the statistics in the text, where available (mean +/- stdev), and by eyeballing the graphs, if necessary.

You're making perfect sense to me. I'm the same way.

Thanks for doing this, it was very useful.

I didn't write down my scores, but I'm well into the aspie range on all of these.

Some of the questions confused me, I couldn't parse what the question was trying to ask, or the question was imprecise and the answer depended on how I interpreted the question.

I suspect that my confusion here is also a product of being aspie. I can see an NT answering these without thinking about them so hard.

I appreciate of all the appreciation I've gotten for my efforts. Very Happy

I've discovered that the Wired AQ-test page still exists, but also that Wired's server no longer calculates one's score. But at least my pages will not suffer from that problem. Smile And my pages seem to work properly in all your browsers.

Thank you for putting them all online together.

I scored:
AQ: 48
EQ: 15
FQ: 16
SQ: 45

I found the FQ one really hard, since some questions asked about situations I've never been in. Like, would I make more effort to maintain old friendships, or to make new ones? The answer is that I don't have any friendships to maintain, nor do I make new ones. So I'm not sure how reliable that result can be, since I had to guess a lot.

The third test was really hard for me -- I thought some of the questions were impossible to answer. For example, #7:
    (a) If I moved to a new area, I would put more effort into staying in touch with old friends than making new friends.
    (b) If I moved to a new area, I would put more effort into making new friends than staying in touch with old friends.

I would put very minimal effort into either one. The result (whether I stayed in close contact with old friends, or not, and whether I made many new friends, or not) depends on other people: whether old friends contact me, whether new people befriend me.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I'd more than likely lose contact with old friends and not make any new ones.
