I think it would be nice to live in a commune. I don't like the American culture anymore. The food is toxic, all I see is stores and streets, cars are everywhere, gas is expensive, commercialism is a form of brainwashing. Does anyone else here feel this way? I would like to live in a better world. I'm thinking of a star trek environment where everyone specializes in something and we work together. I don't like the old hippy ways though. They sort of annoy me for some reason. Does the thought of living a simpler life appeal to anyone else out there?

It would be interesting to see or try out for a small time.....

though It's have to be high-tech or a separate society.

speaking of that I don't see too many cars when I go downtown; but then again I might have a different standard of "cars everywhere" than you and/or used to it.

An autistic commune, probably not. I think people would be too ridgid and it would get annoying.
A hippy commune however, sure, I think I'd love that.
Other kinds.... I don't know.

This was actually considered before.

Living in a commune. I don't know if I could handle that. I wouldn't mind living with people who spend their lives traveling from place to place finding ways to survive, like odd jobs or what not and always depended on each other and were loyal to each other.

If they're kind to animals and mostly sensitive and gentle people, yes, that sounds very nice.

there are ones already that may want to try, camphill communities, though they include people with other developmental disability and also some NTs.

I wouldn't like to live in an aspie commune- I mean, it would be interesting, but I mean what would be the point really? Even though we could relate to each other, I think that with progress in our society, I think maybe we could try and work in a regular world.

I would not be able to handle being arould all aspies all the time. Aspies drive me nuts for the most part. They are so much like me my head feels like its going to explode. I need diversity dammit

Yes, a simpler life does appeal to me. It would be nice to get away from a lot of things in this society.

Yes. Ana54 was planning something similar a long while back. I think it's a fantastic Idea, and I can't wait until there is an Island for aspies.

Maybe not a commune, but perhaps a community of some sort? Like an apartment complex that only accepts Aspies and Auties. With a decent internet connection of course. Smile

I got so sick with life that for a time I actually considered moving into a commune.
