Thank you all for the help, but I'm afraid I still have some questions.
I found out why it wasn't connecting before, I asked my friend about it, and he said that our school has blocked port 6667, so he said to use 6666 instead. I tried to do that on x-chat and it tells me it doesn't exist. On Trillian, it tells me I am "partially connected" but I don't see any chat window. How do I get a chat window to open in Trillian? |

hi civet
you need to click the IRC button on the right of the contacts window, and select 'show status window'. This will open a window for irc.freenode.net.
type in the text entry field
/join #wrongplanet
this opens a window for the channel. type /nick civet if you haven't already set your nick up, and you're off.
